When Geoff Bodine won the 1986 Dayton 500, he was driving a Chevrolet. Here he is with one of his original Bobsleds used by the USA Olympic Bobsled Team and one of the Chevy Silverados that Chevrolet has provided Bodine's Made in America Bobsled Project. The Project has provided USA athletes with some of the best sleds in the world since the mid 1990's and the fleet has been growing since this original sled. "We now have 28 sleds in our Fleet and we have a need to be transporting sleds from point A to point B. The Silverados really assist our efforts," says Bodine. "As a not for profit, we also appreciate that the Silverado gets the best V8 fuel economy of any full size pick up truck. I have had a great relationship with Chevrolet over the years; it is great to see it continue."

Before the 2007-08 season the Bo-Dyn Bobsled fleet driven by the USA Team was totally re-furbished. “The sleds held up pretty well up until the World Championships where 7 of the 9 sleds entered by the USA crashed in practice of racing conditions” said Bo-Dyn sled builder and engineer Bob Cuneo. “The athletes really took care of the sleds with pride this season and when the fleet ended up at Chasis Dynamics in early April I was impressed.” The sleds were shipped by JRC Trucking who has worked with the Bo-Dyn project for many years.
Bo-Dyn Bobsled founder Geoff Bodine also commented, “One of our real needs are NEW sled crates like these (see above picture) that ship the sleds around the world. We had great help in getting them done pretty inexpensively through donations 10 years ago but the fleet has been refurbished and we have new sleds so we need new crates to protect them when we ship them around the globe."

HARRY HURT III writes:
"THE last thing I saw before plunging down the bobsled track at the Olympic Sports Complex outside Lake Placid, N.Y., was an eerie orange light. I shivered in a wind chill of minus 17 degrees that penetrated all the way from my crash helmet to my long johns. I realized that the orange light was the sunset reflecting off the summit of Whiteface Mountain a dozen or so miles to the north. But I had no idea whether it foreboded the thrill of a lifetime or imminent death."
